Back in the Greeneville, TN area this week and was told that if I like Graysburg Hills GC, I need to play Crossings GC at bout 7 miles further away. This Links style course starts out on a rolling hill top and works its way down into the valley below and back up. The many grassy fairway bunkers, framing the manicured Blue grass fairways add to the visual beauty of this layout. The course plays a lot friendlier than its first look, with fair landing areas leading into the slightly tipped Bent grass greens with many hidden breaks. Traps protecting the greens (8-9) are a little firm having been rain soaked but good sand when raked and fluffed. Enjoyed paying $27 18/cart Senior rate for this well kept golfing community course that has a homes a good distance away from the course itself. Played from the Blues/Tips at 3,226yd/3,309 yd respectfully, 70.9 / 132 for this traditional Par 72 layout. Shot 39/40 w/31putts as again landing short (right location) on most holes set-up for easy "Up & Downs" and no 3 putts helped also. Both #9 (414yd) & #18 (417yd) are one tough uphill, dogleg Par 4's that has bogie looking very good considering limited carry on both of these holes. This is a very green course as I was told by the starter, staying green all year round. Course is located off in the middle of nowhere but if you're in the area, its worth the drive to stop and play.
Would travel: 30-60 Miles, Vacation Worthy
Bottom line: I would play again, Better than average course for the area, Bargain priced based on quality and competitive area pricing, Fair priced based on quality and competitive area pricing, Ranks with the best in this price level, Best course in the area
Condition of Course, Price, Pace of Play, Difficulty, Ambiance, Staff, Layout, Clubhouse
